Earth Hour Part 1: Options Green Construction

On March 29, from 8:30 to 9:30 PM local time, millions of people will turn off their lights to celebrate Earth Hour. “Earth Hour is a worldwide grassroots movement uniting people to protect the planet, and is organised by WWF. Engaging a massive mainstream community on a broad range of environmental issues, Earth Hour was famously started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then it has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide.”
Options for Homes wants to do our part in putting less stress on the environment. When we build our communities we put a lot of serious thought into green technology. We start with quality construction by Deltera. Each Options home has the benefit of solar hot water heating, heat recovery ventilation systems in the corridors, timed lighting in the underground parking, and Options for Cars car sharing in the building. Owners can save up to 30-40% on their energy bills - it’s substantial savings and another way we keep homeownership cost-effective.
We have many new Options homes in development, and one exciting project is our Low Carbon Condo. To be built in downtown Toronto, this construction will have one of the smallest carbon footprints of any condominium in North America. Low Carbon Condo was voted one of the Top Ten ideas of the Climate Spark competition in 2012!
With no personal nor visitors parking available in the condo, Low Carbon Condo will feature 10 parking spots exclusively for Options for Cars carsharing service.  This development is perfect for those who get around Toronto by foot, bicycle, mass transit and the occasional use of a car.
