The History of Guildwood Village

On May 21st, Options celebrated our 20th Anniversary with The Village at Guildwood, which is Options for Homes 7th development, located in Guildwood Village. Guildwood Village is a wonderful neighbourhood that has an amazing history that goes back as far as the early 1900s. It’s founders, Rosa and Spencer Clark, dreamed of an ideal modern residential community that combined quality homes with beautiful surroundings.

Guildwood Village was officially opened on August 28, 1957.  During the day, twelve model homes, priced from $25,000 to $30,000, were on display and more than 30,000 people came out to see the grand opening. As a result, the Guildwood Village opening ceremony was deemed one of the largest displays of it’s kind in Canada.
